Sky News Vote '05 Case Study
Project Summary:
For the 2005 General Election Sky News required a dedicated site to be built to coincide with on-air activity surrounding the election.
I was briefed to produce a site which allowed users to follow the results as they came in, as well as offering statistics and historical data.
I designed the site working with the on-air brand team to ensure consistency across the different media.
I created an interface that would use Flash to allow users to visually navigate around the UK in order to find constituencies of interest and to offer a visual key to the national and regional spread of loses and gains by the political parties. The site also allowed for alternative methods of search and navigation.
I worked with the third-party agency that developed the back-end solution to allow the site to be quickly and automatically updated on the election night.
